No organization, big or small, can afford to be without a media strategy. Understanding media access and its possibilities can enhance a corporate image with a scope unimaginable prior to the Internet. Image enhancement and strategic growth always includes a master media plan. But media relations can be a double-edged sword. An attack from a wayward blog or an unwelcome cell phone video can travel around the world in minutes, leaving a company struggling to maintain its market share or a non-profit fighting for its survival.

We understand media strategies. We have over twenty-five years experience in helping our clients channel and harness the power of media to their maximum market advantage. We offer both one and two-day real time, interactive seminars in media skills and strategies including:

  • Greeting “The Beast” — A Media System Overview
  • Developing A Media Strategy For Market Growth and Image Enhancement
  • The Five Steps To Media Access
  • The Myth Of The Sound Bite
  • The Broadcast Interview — How It Really Works
  • Turning Talking Points Into Conversation
  • The Five Biggest Blunders People Make On Television

Individual Media Training Programs

“Thanks for all your help and encouragement in all my media appearances. You are the best!”

— Barbara Corcoran, CEO The Corcoran Group and “Today Show” Contributor

Since 1981 we have trained more than 1500 New York Times bestselling authors, members of Congress, editors of major magazines, and top corporate executives in three individual training programs.

Former Vice President and Nobel Laureate Al Gore, Pulitzer Prize winning authors Jhumpa Lahiri, Jeffrey Eugenides and Susan Faludi, Nobel-prize winning physicist Arno Penzias, Curves CEO Gary Heavin, Corcoran Group CEO and “Today Show” regular Barbara Corcoran and J. Willard Marriott, CEO of The Marriott Corporation sharpened their media skills through our classic four-hour, all-media training program. The Standard Session focuses on talking points that go beyond “sound bites” to a powerful, selling message delivered with conversational ease and sincerity. Recommended for all national morning shows, prime-time cable, principal NPR programs and news magazines. Includes telephone and e-mail follow-up with the guest.

The Extended Session is a six-hour program designed for special events or training situations--breaking news, crisis consultation, controversial books, more practice time for tentative guests and other campaigns where additional practice will enhance a solid, selling delivery. Includes a follow-up session of up to two hours with additional sessions as needed during crises and other urgent situations.

Dell Computer CEO Michael Dell is among those we’ve trained in our streamlined 2 1/2 hour program emphasizing the all-important local radio and television interviews—what to say, how to say it, what to wear. Recommended for experienced guests on local television, radio-TV satellite tours or live demos. Not recommended for national television, prime-time cable or major public radio appearances with inexperienced guests.

“I thought you were amazing the first time we worked together in preparation for the debut of The Sneaky Chef on the “Today Show,” but you were even better the second time around! I felt so much more confident after our session. You are a real pro, and I appreciate how much you helped to make my first book an instant bestseller.”

— Missy Chase Lapine, author of The Sneaky Chef
